SPIRIT WEEK (MONTH, actually :-)
💚 Leading with Gratitude 💚
Building administrators submitted their nominations last month to recognize staff members who lead with the trait of gratitude and who take the time to genuinely show others they are valued, appreciated, and recognized. We begin this series by featuring Anne Helmich, PE teacher at Belfair Elementary, who was nominated by Principal Klusman. "Anne is always letting others know how grateful she is for all they do. During our annual Turkey Trot, she showed her gratitude to others flexibility and support to make the event a success.”
Congratulations, Anne, on this well-deserved recognition!
DECEMBER SPIRIT WEEK!
💙 Recognizing Responsibility 💙
Today we celebrate Alicia Covert for being nominated by building administration for demonstrating RESPONSIBILITY. Principal Klusman at Belfair Elementary shares, "Alicia is our MTSS paraeducator. She goes above and beyond for our students. She provides student breaks, runs our pawsitive shop, tracks attendance, and responds to calls for student report. These are just a few of the things she does in a typical day."
Congratulations, Alicia, on this well-deserved recognition!

Turkey Trot extended !
You have hopefully seen that the Turkey Trot was moved to next Wednesday, the 20th. But we have also been granted an extension on our Fundraising dates! We can now accept donations through November 21st, and your donation will count towards the prize levels!
Kindergarten is still in first place for raising the most funds. Our goal is $10,000. Funds raised from the Turkey Trot goes towards a variety of cultural, athletic, recreational and social events for our school. These events include field trips, assemblies, playground supplies, and family engagement events. Your donations make a huge difference and we are so appreciative. Thank you for your support!
If you would like to donate, you can use the QR code below or send donations to the office.
If you are able to volunteer during the Turkey Trot, you can sign up by emailing ahelmich@northmasonschools.org
The theme for National School Psychology Week is, Spark Discovery,” recognizing the work that school psychologists do to help their communities seek out new ideas, effect change, and expand horizons for children and youth. One of our school psychologists, Chasity Johnson, shares what sparks her to do this important work. “I am driven by a passion for helping others, embracing teamwork, and honoring every person’s unique worth. I believe that joy is found in the little moments, and each day is a chance to make a positive impact.”
Thank you to all of our school psychologists, Chasity Johnson, Maria Gent, Annie Kuznik, and Anthony Wilborn, for supporting our students through your commitment to this important work.

Due to the rainy weather, the Turkey Trot has been postponed until next Wednesday, November 20th. Our field is too soggy and the forecast is calling for more rain this week.
The more adults we have to support and encourage our runners, the better :-) If you are able to help next week, please let know! A current background check is required to be on file with the district. The Belfair Elementary Turkey Trot Fundraiser is underway! We have 8 days left to reach our goal of $10,000. Currently Kindergarten is in the lead for raising the most funds! The top student from each grade level who collects the most money will get to ride through town on a fire truck! Raising $50.01 or more earns a Turkey Trot T-shirt! Plus, there are many more prizes to be earned for participating.
The Turkey Trot (aka Jog-a-Thon) is our only ASB fundraiser each year. These funds support cultural, recreational, and social events for students like field trips and assemblies. You are able to donate online using the QR code below, or donate at the school! Feel free to share the QR code with family and friends :-)

💙 Recognizing RESPECT 💙
Congratulations to Deb Boad, Secretary at Belfair Elementary, for being nominated by Admin for demonstrating respect. "Deb shows respect every day and in every way to our families, students and staff. She listens without judgement and never speaks an unkind word of another."
Deb Boad will be retiring at the end of this month after being with the district for 24 years. Half of that time she has spent at Belfair Elementary, being the welcoming face our staff, students and families see when they walk into the office. We will miss you, Deb!
