After a months-long extensive search process that included valuable input from teachers, parents, administrators, staff, students and community members, the North Mason School District Board of Directors voted in the early hours of Feb. 1, 2025, to select Dr. Kristine Michael, EdD, as the next superintendent.
“Dr. Michael’s robust presentation to the community, which included a thoroughly detailed 90-day plan for her transition into this role, as well as her extensive instructional experience in Ohio and abroad demonstrate her passion for student achievement and make her an excellent and exciting selection for the next superintendent of North Mason Schools,” said Board Chair Erik Youngberg. “We look forward to this next chapter of North Mason’s story.”
Youngberg and the North Mason School Board express gratitude for the community’s participation in the superintendent search process. This announcement is the culmination of a comprehensive search conducted by the board with the assistance of the search firm, Ray and Associates. The process included many hours of reviewing application materials, interviewing semi-finalist candidates and carefully assessing the qualifications of the candidates in relation to the candidate profiles determined by the board, district employees and community members.
The board received 24 applicants for the position, reviewed video submissions from 11 applicants and conducted seven semi-finalist interviews, narrowing the search down to the three finalists who toured North Mason School District each for one full day at the end of January. Staff and community members participated in surveys after their candidate interactions and submitted responses that the board reviewed on Jan. 31.
Dr. Dana Rosenbach’s final day as North Mason Schools Superintendent will be June 30, 2025, and Dr. Michael’s work will officially begin on July 1. The board, administration and incoming superintendents will be working on a transition plan these next few months.
